Enlisted in 1939. Served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, 120th Squadron.
Killed in Action on August 13, 1942.

Died when his plane was shot down while doing patrols over Ireland.
There is no known grave.
Name is engraved on the Runneymede Air Force Memorial, Surrey, England.
Survived by his wife Merle Kelly, of Renfrew, Ontario, Canada, whom he married on 19 December 1941.
One month later, Flight Sergeant Craig was sent overseas and ended up based in Ireland. On 13 August 1942, his commanders received a radio message from the S.S. Letitia that it has been torpedoed. Flight Sergeant Craig's aircraft took off to look for survivors and attacked a German submarine. Brother of Helen, Edmund, and Marian. He attended Kingston Consolidated School and Saint John High School.

Died when his plane was shot down after returning home from a raid on Essen.
Buried at Maubeuge-center Cemetery in France.
Survived by his fiancee Betty Gray of Saint John, New Brunswick.

Enlisted on December 18, 1942. Served in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps, first with the Carleton and York Regiment and then with the North Shore Regiment.
Killed in Action on February 8, 1945.
Listed as Commonwealth War Dead.
Buried in the Groesback Canadian War Cemetery in Holland.
He was wounded in action on September 18, 1944. After recovery he chose to stay with his unit where he later died as a result of stepping on a land mine.

Lieutenant (Navy) Chris Saunders was the son of Hugh (Trish) Saunders and Debbie (Stuart) Sullivan. Husband of Gwendolyn Ethel (nee Patterson) Saunders and father of Ben Saunders (age 2 years) and Luke Saunders (age 7 weeks). Son-in-law of Reg and Sherald Patterson. Lt. Saunders attended Kennebacasis Valley High School outside of Saint John, New Brunswick. Lt. Saunders graduated with honours in 1990, later entering the Armed Forces on a full military scholarship. He was a Combat Systems Engineer on board HMCS CHICOUTIMI.

Gordon Rathburn
Born in Woodstock, NB in 1922, he was the son of the late Hazen and Jeannette (Hatton) Rathburn. He served in The Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada. Gordon was stationed in Moose Jaw, SK and Whitehorse YT from 1943-1946.
Prior to this, in 1939 he was in the Non Permanent Active Militia of Canada 89 K Battery RCA and 2nd Carleton York Regt, both in Woodstock, NB. He later reenlisted in ARC Regular force in 1952 and was stationed in Ontario. Gordon passed away in 2009.
Donald Newstead

NEWSTEAD Donald K, of Summerville, NB, Husband of G. Joyce (Short), passed away on Friday, March 18 2011 at Bobby’s Hope House in Saint John, NB. Born on April 2, 1932 in Arcola, Saskatchewan. After retiring from the military Don trained and worked as a carpenter then worked many years as a land surveyor for Murdock Lingley Land Surveyors, until his retirement in 1995. Don served with the Royal Canadian Army (RCHA) from 1949 to 1971. Postings outside Canada included Korea, Indo China, Vietnam, and twice in Germany. Special Duty Service in Canada included the 1970 FLQ Crisis.
Robert "Bob" G. Laver
He passed away May 20 2020
Bob was the son of the late Eric and Beryl (Handley) Laver. In his earlier years, Bob served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob was a member of Branch 62 Legion on the Kingston Peninsula. He worked as a Construction Manager at Brunswick Square and Canada Games. Bob was a board member of Soccer Canada as well as the President of Soccer NB. In the last 18 years, Bob would be remembered dearly by all who knew him through the Quispamsis arena canteen. Bob was very active at the Legions Canada Day, working at the outside BBQ.
